For my first monumental boat sculpture, I chose to draw inspiration from Riva’s Aquarama, …
… this work aims to convey the legendary elegance of the brand”.
This monumental sculpture aims to capture the essence of Riva by reinterpreting the artist’s first two small-scale sculptures, which were created in precious wood and metal. For this unique piece, rusted corten steel was chosen to replace wood. The natural patina of this material adds to the sculpture’s visual effect and reinforces its elegance.
Its bold, flowing lines reflect the timeless beauty of the runabout, while the contrast between mirror-polished stainless steel and rusted corten steel lends depth to the work.
First shown in the charming town of Sainte Maxime on the Côte d’Azur during the Summer 2024 exhibition, it is now on display in Le Touquet on the Côte d’Opale in northern France since early December 2024.
