With this new monumental work, the first specially designed for the town of Le Touquet, I hope to create an artistic and symbolic landmark in the heart of the town. It was inspired by the emblematic “Touquet caddy” logo.

Standing 7.2 metres high, “Phare Sentinel” will be a strong urban signal, visible from afar, inviting visitors to the Quentovic district. Like an imaginary lighthouse, it will have a dual function: to guide and to protect. To guide, through its verticality, concealed internal lighting and formal clarity, those discovering or rediscovering the town; to protect, by becoming a benevolent sentinel, guardian of Le Touquet’s identity and heritage.

The choice of corten steel, a living, evolving material, is in keeping with a logic of durability and rootedness. Its warm patina transforms over time, interacting with light, seasons and sea air. The material, deliberately raw and organic, embodies the passage of time and the memory of place.

Continuing my artistic research, “Sentinel Lighthouse” combines the search for an identifiable aesthetic with visual purity. The openwork structure lets in natural light, offering the viewer an evolving experience depending on the time of day and the viewpoint. At night, its warm, concealed lighting, inspired by a maritime lighthouse, guides spectators to it, enveloping them in a benevolent atmosphere. Monumental, it blends respectfully into the urban landscape.
