Some prefer the monumental, others concentrate on more accessible formats. For <a href=\"https:\/\/www.antoinedufilho.com\/en\/biographie\/\">Antoine Dufilho<\/a>, the choice of format is never a matter of chance. The French artist, who has devoted himself fully to automotive sculpture since 2012, builds his work through a controlled alternation between monumental creations and pieces intended for collectors.   <\/p>\n\n<p>This approach, far from being opportunistic, bears witness to structured artistic reflection. It makes it possible to install a recognizable signature in the public space, while maintaining a constant dialogue with art lovers who wish to integrate his works into their personal environment. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The monumental as artistic manifesto<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.antoinedufilho.com\/en\/antoine-dufilho-contemporary-sculptures-between-land-air-and-sea\/\">Antoine Dufilho&#8217;s monumental<\/a> sculptures function as veritable manifestos. After an exhibition in La Baule, it found a permanent home in Le Touquet, in front of the Westminster Hotel.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Red Stream, a 1:1 scale representation of the Ferrari 250 GTO, also bears witness to this ability to create pieces that become part of the collective memory. Presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2022, it was then exhibited at Charles Pozzi Paris, in Meg\u00e8ve, then on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. The monumental Riva sculpture, named La Dolce Vita, followed a similar path: exhibited in Sainte-Maxime during the summer of 2024, it has been installed in Le Touquet since December 2024.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Taking risks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>Creating on this scale represents a considerable commitment. Each monumental work requires months of work and significant resources. Gunmetal Symphony, the stainless steel Porsche 911 presented at Art Up! 2021, measures 4.30 meters long, 1.80 meters wide and 1.40 meters high. These creations are not simply technical demonstrations. They assert an artistic vision and a desire to bring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.antoinedufilho.com\/en\/when-the-automobile-becomes-sculpture-the-mechanical-world-of-antoine-dufilho\/\">automotive sculpture<\/a> into the public arena.     <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Intimate pieces: the living heart of the collection<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Alongside his monumental works, Antoine Dufilho is developing pieces in more accessible formats. Streamline, a longitudinal cutting method reminiscent of wind tunnel research, applies equally well to Red Stream and to the 250 GTO in collector&#8217;s format. The Solaire technique, inaugurated with the Porsche 993, features two sets of plates positioned to create an original visual effect, replicable in different dimensions.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The artist, represented in over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.antoinedufilho.com\/en\/galleries\/\">40 galleries in France and abroad<\/a>, is careful to maintain this coherence. Each piece, whether destined for a public space or a private collection, bears his stylistic signature: the interplay between full and empty, the search for transparency, the kinetic effect that makes the work evolve according to the viewer&#8217;s point of observation. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Direct dialogue with collectors<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>These more intimate pieces enable us to establish a direct dialogue with art lovers. They circulate in private collections, and are integrated into interiors, corporate headquarters and living spaces. These are works designed to last, to accompany their owners over time. The absence of industrial production guarantees their unique or limited character.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>An alternation that avoids saturation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>There&#8217;s a real risk in only showing monumental works one after the other. Antoine Dufilho&#8217;s work offers this clarity. <\/p>\n\n<p>The build-up is gradual and documented. Since his first creations in 2011 with the Bugatti Type 35, the artist has developed proprietary techniques that structure his work. The chronology of his innovations, from the first Atlantic sculpture in 2012 to the Solaire technique in 2023, bears witness to a steady but controlled evolution.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Prestigious collaborations reinforce this credibility. The partnership with Jean Todt around the Peugeot 205 T16, initiated in 2020, gave rise to a series signed by both men. The collaboration with Jean-\u00c9ric Vergne for the Formula E sculpture celebrates DS Automobiles&#8217; commitment to sustainable mobility. These associations are not opportunistic, but reflect artistic and human affinities that enrich the work.   <\/p>\n\n<p>The market structured by the artist avoids saturation. Monumental works visible in public spaces anchor the artist&#8217;s reputation. Collectors&#8217; pieces owned by enthusiasts extend this presence into the private sphere. This double anchorage, visible and owned, builds a solid foundation for the future.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A strategy in the service of art<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>Few contemporary sculptors master the question of format with such finesse. For Antoine Dufilho, the alternation between the monumental and the intimate is not based on commercial logic, but on a global artistic vision. Each creation finds its place in a coherent whole, whether intended to mark an urban landscape or to accompany a collector&#8217;s daily life.  <\/p>\n\n<p>This approach places the artist in a logic of sustainability.
