Antoine Dufilho: Is it possible to commission a custom-made work?

Antoine Dufilho creates custom sculptures for private collectors, companies and municipalities. From standard formats to monumental works measuring over 7 meters, the Lille studio has the answer to every project.
Made-to-measure design at your fingertips
The answer is clear: anything is possible. Antoine Dufilho designs sculptures of any size. Projects can be adapted for any purpose. The studio handles both indoor and outdoor commissions.
Completion takes around a year. This time allows us to design, manufacture and finalize each piece with the rigor that characterizes the sculptor’s work. Quality takes precedence over speed.
Proposed formats
Standard formats
Antoine Dufilho usually works in two main formats. 1:1 scale sculptures reproduce the actual dimensions of the vehicle or object represented. The 80 x 36 cm format forms the basis for more accessible editions.
These dimensions enable them to be exhibited in galleries or by collectors. The techniques remain identical to those used for monumental works. Only the scale changes.
Exceptional formats
Custom orders sometimes break with these standards. Two years ago, the workshop produced a monumental 2/3-scale Jaguar E-Type for a collector. This intermediate size offers a compromise between visual impact and space constraints.
Formats are defined according to the project. There are no technical limits to creativity. The studio masters all scales.
Beyond the automobile
Antoine Dufilho doesn’t limit his work to vehicles. Commissions explore other worlds. The workshop has already produced a train. A transport company has ordered a truck. Monuments also feature in the catalog of possible creations.
Champagne bottles come to life in metal. These everyday objects become sculptures using the sculptor’s characteristic technique. The alternation of full and empty applies to all subjects.
Sentinel Lighthouse: an exceptional municipal commission
A first for the town of Le Touquet
The Sentinel Lighthouse is the first monumental work specially designed for the town of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. Antoine Dufilho drew inspiration from the emblematic logo of the “Touquet caddy” to create this 7.2-meter-high sculpture.
This work is an artistic and symbolic landmark in the heart of the town. It will be installed on Place Courchinoux, in the Quentovic district, which has just celebrated its centenary. The unveiling takes place on September 20, 2025, exactly one hundred years after the creation of the original Caddy poster by Édouard Courchinoux.
A dual function: guidance and protection
The Sentinel Lighthouse has a dual mission. First, it guides through its verticality and concealed internal lighting. Its formal clarity orients those discovering or rediscovering the city. Like an imaginary lighthouse, it stands out as a strong urban signal, visible from afar, inviting visitors to join the Quentovic district.
It then protects by becoming a benevolent sentinel. This sculpture guards Le Touquet’s identity and heritage. It watches over the seaside resort and its inhabitants.
Corten steel: a living material
Corten steel is chosen for its durability and deep-rootedness. This living, evolving material changes over time. Its warm patina interacts with the light, the seasons and the sea air.
The material, deliberately raw and organic, embodies the passage of time. It carries the memory of the place. Natural oxidation creates stable protection. The sculpture withstands the elements while evolving aesthetically.
An evolving experience
Continuing Antoine Dufilho’s artistic research, the Sentinel Lighthouse combines identifiable aesthetics with visual purity. The openwork structure lets in natural light. The viewer’s experience evolves according to the time of day and point of view.
At night, its warm, concealed lighting is inspired by a maritime lighthouse. It guides viewers towards the sculpture. The atmosphere becomes benevolent. Monumentality blends respectfully into the urban landscape.
The ordering process
Initial consultation
Every project begins with a consultation. The client outlines his or her requirements. Antoine Dufilho assesses the technical feasibility. Dimensions, installation location and budget are discussed together.
This phase enables us to refine the concept. Technical constraints are identified from the outset. Solutions emerge from the dialogue between artist and customer.
The design
Antoine Dufilho then designs the project. Plans detail the structure. Materials are selected according to intended use. Corten steel is ideal for outdoor use. Aluminum and stainless steel are suitable for all environments.
The Streamline technique may or may not apply. Some commissions require other approaches. The sculptor adapts his skills to the subject at hand.
Manufacturing
The maritime container workshop in the Lille countryside houses all production. Antoine Dufilho shapes each piece. Molding and welding require perfect mastery. Each element is oriented at a precise angle.
Production takes about a year. This timeframe varies according to complexity and size. Monumental works take longer.
Installation
Monumental sculptures require specific logistics. Transportation is meticulously organized. On-site installation requires rigorous preparation.
Foundations are calculated according to weight and climatic constraints. Wind, rain and temperature variations are anticipated. Every exterior sculpture is designed to withstand the elements.
Order types
Private collectors
Individuals often commission special vehicles. A personal car can become a sculpture. The scale is chosen according to the space available. The garage, garden or living room can be the setting for the work.
Companies
Companies use sculptures as decorative elements. Head offices, showrooms or reception areas are adorned with these creations. The work reflects the company’s identity.
Municipalities
Cities commission artworks for public spaces. The Sentinel Lighthouse is a perfect example of this type of project. Monumental sculptures mark squares, traffic circles and parks. They create strong visual landmarks and enrich the local artistic heritage.
